Live Music Returns to The Mansion Nightclub with ‘Hollerado’ Announcement

Live music is returning to The Mansion Nightclub (formerly known as the The Foundation) as Admiral Live announces a long-term commitment to the venue and their latest show announcement featuring Hollerado, performing Dec 20, 2012. "We're absolutely thrilled to be a part of an ongoing concert series downtown Barrie," comments Paul Fairley of Admiral Live. "It's a great venue with a long history and the potential to produce a wide range of live genres."

Although the Mansion Nightclub has focused on its Electronic Dance Music weekends, live shows will be produced on evenings throughout the week. "We've been extremely successful with our electronic dance weekends but are realizing the opportunity for our business to appeal to a wider demographic of musical interests," says Jamie Broomhead, GM of The Mansion Nightclub.

Over the years the Mansion (as the Foundation) had produced shows with Canadian recording acts including April Wine, The Headstones, Collin James, Big Wreck, Kim Mitchell, Big Sugar and many others. International acts have included bands like the Edgar Winter Group, Dr. Hook, Nazareth and more. The legendary live music venue has also been a showcase room for all sorts of touring bands and grass roots music contests for upcoming artists including Rock 95's annual Local and Loud competition and annual live music festivals including the New Music Fest Barrie.

"Through the 90's and early 2000's, the Foundation Nightclub had brought a number of legendary acts to the City of Barrie." comments Randy Richards of Rock 95. "It was a launching pad for some of the early careers of bands like Nickleback, Theory Of A Deadman, Hedley and many more."

The initial show announced for The Mansions' upcoming live concert series, will feature Hollerado, performing live on Thursday December 20, 2012. Tickets are on sale as of Friday Nov 16th at 2pm, available online or in person at Tropical North (42 Dunlop St East, downtown Barrie).

In 2009, Hollerado self-released their debut album 'Record in a Bag' as a free digital download. In February 2010, Royal Mountain Records along with Arts & Crafts re-released Record in a Bag with the album's lead single "Americanarama", which drew press for its music video starring The Kids in the Hall comedian Dave Foley. The album has been favourably compared to the music of Supergrass, Stephen Malkmus and Weezer. In 2011, the band was nominated for Best New Group at the 2011 Juno Awards.
